Lions’ loss to Broncos draws 22.1 million viewers
The Lions’ 24-12 loss to the Broncos at Ford Field drew an average of 22.1 million viewers, according to numbers released Tuesday by NBC Sports, making it the second-most watched Week 3 game in the history of Sunday Night Football, which dates to 2006.
The viewership marks a 12 percent increase from last season’s Week 3 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers. The game posted a 13.1/22 household rating, up 10 percent from last year’s Week 3 game.
The game drew the highest ratings of the three regular-season games on Sunday Night Football so far this season.
