Green Bay, Wis. — Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will indeed play Sunday against the Packers despite an ankle injury, but there are some surprises on the team’s inactive list for the 1 p.m. game at Lambeau Field.
Linebacker Travis Lewis (groin) is inactive even though the Lions listed him as probable, and offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas is a healthy scratch for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Packers running back Eddie Lacy (groin) is inactive. Lacy was Green Bay’s top back the past two seasons, but James Starks replaced him as the starter before the injury.
With Lucas out, the Lions are keeping Michael Ola active for the first time this season, and Ola will be the top backup tackle.
Wide receiver TJ Jones, offensive tackle Corey Robinson, tight end Tim Wright and defensive tackles Khyri Thornton and Jermelle Cudjo are also inactive for the Lions.
The Lions will be without starting cornerback Rashean Mathis, too, after he went on injured reserve Saturday. Nevin Lawson will start in his place.
The Lions also have an extra safety active with Isa Abdul-Quddus available despite a foot injury and rookie Isaiah Johnson being promoted from the practice squad Saturday.
In addition to Lacy, quarterback Brett Hundley, cornerback LaDarius Gunter, linebacker Andy Mulumba, guard Lane Taylor, tight end Kennard Backman and wide receiver Ty Montgomery are inactive for the Packers.
