Allen Park — Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle) was among the players returning to practice Thursday after sitting Wednesday.

With his appearance Thursday, it looks like Johnson should be available for Sunday's game against the Raiders at Ford Field (1 p.m., FOX).

Cornerback Nevin Lawson (concussion) and safety Don Carey (back) returned to practice, too. As he continues progressing through the NFL's concussion protocol, Lawson was likely limited Thursday, but if he can practice Friday, that'd be a good sign for his availability.

Defensive end Jason Jones (not injury related) and defensive tackle Gabe Wright (ankle) were the only two players out.
