Bah, humbug! Ebron, Moore fined for Christmas cleats

Allen Park — Lions wide receiver Lance Moore and tight end Eric Ebron said they received fines from the NFL for wearing Christmas-themed cleats in last Monday's win over the Saints.
The standard fine for a uniform violation is $5,787, and both players said they didn't regret their apparel choice.
"Ain't no thing," Ebron said. "It was worth it."
The NFL has strict uniform policies, and players are supposed to wear cleats with a certain color scheme each week. The NFL would not confirm the fines on Friday.
Moore's cleats were mostly blue and white, but also featured snowmen, holly and poinsettias. They also had his daughter's initials, G.M.M.
For Moore, a return to New Orleans — where he spent nine years of his career — on a Monday night game a few days before Christmas was more than enough reason to try to look spiffy.
Ebron's cleats were red, green and white with the green resembling a decorated Christmas tree.
Both players wore their Christmas cleats again in practice Friday.
