Golden Tate, right, watches as Eric Gestring pops the big question to girlfriend Darien Holden.

Lions receiver Golden Tate helped make one Navy veteran look like an All-Pro on Sunday.

Eric Gestring, who lives in the Detroit area and served for six years, proposed to girlfriend Darien Holden on Sunday at Ford Field, prior to the Lions-Niners game.

Tate's "Golden Future Foundation," which provides support for U.S. military veterans, purchased the diamond engagement ring for the couple and arranged for the on-field proposal.

Tate, fiancee Elise Pollard, and Lions teammates TJ Jones and Corey Fuller held placards that read, "Will you marry me?" while Gestring popped the big question.

Gestring, Holden and their families also watched the game from a Ford Field suite.

Gestring's proposal must have been a winner. Holden said "yes."
