Report: Teryl Austin interviews for Dolphins' job

Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin has already had at least one interview for a head coaching job.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins met with Austin, as well as Mike Shanahan, in New York to discuss their head coaching vacancy.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell confirmed Monday that Austin also plans to interview with the Cleveland Browns, and he said there are “several” teams interested in Austin.

According to, Austin will interview for the Browns job on Wednesday. Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase has an interview with Cleveland Wednesday, too, per the report.

Austin, who interviewed for four head coaching posts last year, has also reportedly received interest from the Philadelphia Eagles.
