As the Lions search for their next general manager, the man who most recently held the title has become a candidate elsewhere.

Martin Mayhew, who was Lions GM from 2009 until last November, interviewed Wednesday for the GM job with the Tennessee Titans, the team announced Wednesday night.

Mayhew spent 15 years in the Lions personnel department. In his seven years as GM the Lions went to the postseason twice. Owner Martha Firestone Ford fired him and president Tom Lewand after a 1-7 start in 2015.

The Titans fired GM Ruston Webster on Monday.
