Calling all exorcists: Lions are listening

Plenty of Lions fans think the team is cursed, and one of them suggested a way to break that hex to team president Rod Wood on Thursday.

“It’s a very popular question, and it’s one that as I said before, it’s not off the table,” Rod Wood said of cheerleaders at Ford Field. “And I’m taking strong consideration, how’s that?”

During an hourlong interview on Detroit Sports 105.1 (WMGC-FM), multiple callers praised Wood for his willingness to take questions from fans, and he played along when one fan asked if the Lions should hire a shaman or an exorcist to help the Lions break out of their half-century-long funk.

“No one’s asked me to bring in an exorcist,” he said. “That’s a first, so I’ll put it in the same category as other decisions that I’ll revisit later on.”

The other topics were ways to improve the team this offseason, potential changes to the team uniform and even the possibility of adding cheerleaders. The final call was the only one to suggest supernatural changes.

“If there is a sports exorcist out there, they can certainly call me,” Wood said.
