The Lions were 7-1 when Isa Abdul-Quddus started last season, but it turns out another team valued him more.

Abdul-Quddus is signing with the Miami Dolphins, according to several reports. NFL Network reported his new deal is worth $12.75 million over three years.

Abdul-Quddus was one of the top free-agent safeties on the market, but the Lions didn’t make the hardest push to re-sign him. They signed former Patriots backup Tavon Wilson, and it appears they’re content with an inexpensive players — be it Wilson or someone else — starting next to Glover Quin.

Abdul-Quddus, 26, was with the Lions for two seasons after spending three years with the New Orleans Saints.
