With most of the pro days over and teams moving onto prospect visits, most teams have a good idea of how they’re grading prospects for the draft that begins April 28.

The Lions still have several needs they could address in the draft with defensive end, offensive tackle, center, wide receiver and strong safety at the top.

Considering this is Bob Quinn’s first draft as general manager, it’s hard to predict what his tendencies will be. But, the expectation for the Lions, as with most teams, is that they’ll look in the first round for the best player available who also fills a need.

In my first mock draft for The Detroit News, I had the Lions taking former Louisville defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, but that position is less of a need after the team re-signed Tyrunn Walker and Haloti Ngata and added Stefan Charles.
