NFL teams already have plucked 31 of the top players from this year’s draft pool, but there are still plenty of talented players available.
After taking Ohio State offensive tackle Taylor Decker in the first round, the Lions still have nine selections remaining, including two on the second day of the draft. The next pick for Detroit is No. 46 overall in the second round, followed by No. 95 in the third round, which is the first compensatory pick of the draft.
Obviously, the Lions could try to package some of their later picks to move higher in the third round or trade back in the second round to acquire more picks. Everyone will see general manager Bob Quinn’s Day 2 plan starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
Until then, here are 15 top prospects who could help the Lions in Round 2 or 3:
■ DT Jarran Reed, Alabama
■ LB Myles Jack, UCLA (fell due to knee issue)
■ DE Emmanuel Ogbah, Oklahoma State
■ S T.J. Green, Clemson
■ DE Kevin Dodd, Clemson
