Damian Copeland spent two seasons with the Jaguars before he was waived in late March.

The Lions signed Damian Copeland on Tuesday, adding another wide receiver to the competition for a back-end roster spot.

Copeland went undrafted out of Louisville in 2014 and spent his first two NFL seasons with Jacksonville on injured reserve with a wrist injury as a rookie and a shoulder injury last year.

The 6-foot-1, 182-pound Copeland has yet to play in an NFL game and appeared in just two preseason games. The Jaguars waived him in late March.

Corey Fuller, one of the top options for the No. 5 receiver spot, is dealing with a foot injury, which made receiver more of a need this summer.

To make room for Copeland, the Lions waived offensive lineman Andrew Zeller, who went undrafted this year out of Maryland.
