Detroit Lions Cheerleaders are just one of the new upgrades to the fan experience this season.

Allen Park – The Lions are upgrading the fan experience at Ford Field this season, and no, we’re not just talking about the addition of cheerleaders.

To encourage fans to games arrive early, and reduce lengthy waits to get into the building, the team will have weekly giveaways for the first 20,000 fans, highlighted by a Barry Sanders bobble head for the Oct. 16 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Inside, The Breadstick Bar & Bistro will have a tailgating hour from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. with discounted food and beverage pricing, including $2 hot dogs, $2 sodas and $3 well drinks. The tailgate hour will also include meet and greet opportunities with the cheerleaders and former Lions players.

Arriving and leaving the game should also be easier this year with the team’s partnership with Uber.

The partnership includes an exclusive pickup and drop-off point located along the northbound E Fisher Service Drive, between Woodward and John R on game days.

Additionally, Uber is offering an exclusive promotion code for first time users (LIONSDET), valid for one free ride up to $20.
