Justin Rogers’ Lions midseason grades
Allen Park – The Detroit Lions are average. That’s not an opinion, that’s what their record says.
Coach Jim Caldwell agrees and knows it’s not good enough.
“When you look midway through the season and you’re 4-4, you’re playing average,” Caldwell said. “Average is not going to get it, so we have to play better.”
So when grading the individual components of the whole, you’re not looking at an average that’s going to qualify for a Dean’s List. There have obviously been some bright spots in the first half of this season, starting with quarterback Matthew Stafford. There have also been plenty of duds.
