Lions kicker Matt Prater named to Pro Bowl
The Detroit News

Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater has been named to the Pro Bowl, replacing Matt Bryant of the Atlanta Falcons.
Bryant is unable to participate in this Sunday’s Pro Bowl in Orlando because the Falcons will be preparing for the Super Bowl.
Prater is the first Lions kicker to make the Pro Bowl since Jason Hanson in 2000.
Prater made a career-high 31 field goals in 2016, the third-highest total in Lions history. Hanson had 34 in 1993 and 32 in 2012.
Prater had 124 points this season, the sixth-highest total in Lions history. He made six winning or tying field goals with less than four minutes to play in the fourth quarter or overtime this season.
Seven of Prater’s 31 field goals were 50 yards or longer.
