Allen Park — The Detroit Lions added some veteran depth to their defensive line on Thursday, agreeing to terms with defensive tackle Akeem Spence and defensive end Cornelius Washington, according to ESPN.

Spence is entering his fifth season out of Illinois, has spent the past four with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 6-foot-1, 307-pounder has appeared in 56 games, including 30 starts. He’s recorded 96 tackles and 51/2 sacks.

Spence’s deal is a three-year, $10.5 million pact.

Washington received a two-year, $6 million contract, with incentives that could push the total to $8 million. A rotational player for the Chicago Bears last season, he appeared in 15 games, playing a little more than a third of the team’s defensive snaps, tallying 20 tackles and two sacks.
