Allen Park — The Detroit Lions have signed three tryout players from last weekend’s rookie minicamp  wide receiver Deontez Alexander, tight end Marcus Lucas and cornerback Josh Okonye.

Alexander played at Franklin College, a small liberal arts school 25 miles south of Indianapolis. In 21 games over the past two seasons, he caught 114 passes for 2,133 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Working out at Ball State’s pro day, Alexander caught the attention of a number of teams with a pair of sub 4.4-second 40-yard dash runs.

The 6-foot, 192-pound Okonye spent four years at Wake Forest before playing last season as a graduate transfer at Purdue. In 13 games with the Boilermakers, he recorded 41 tackles and 10 pass breakups.

Lucas, a veteran, went undrafted out of Missouri in 2014. He’s spent time on six different NFL practice squads the past three seasons.
