Allen Park -- The Detroit Lions claimed two players off waivers, snagging offensive tackle Andrew Donnal and cornerback Dee Virgin on Sunday.

Donnal, a fourth-round pick out of Iowa in 2015, spent his first two seasons with the Rams. He was waived prior to the start of the 2017 season and claimed by the Ravens. The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder has appeared in 27 games during this three-year career, including six starts for the Rams.

Virgin signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent out of West Alabama last year and spent much of his rookie season on the team's practice squad. During this preseason, he recorded five tackles. The 5-foot-10, 205-pounder also posted good numbers in coverage, according to Pro Football Focus, allowing two receptions for 17 yards on seven targets.
