Despite appearances, Lions' Jarrad Davis and Theo Riddick sit out practice

Allen Park — The Detroit Lions appeared to have perfect attendance for Wednesday's practice, with every player on the roster in a jersey and a helmet for the portion of open to the media, but linebacker Jarrad Davis and running back Theo Riddick were listed as non-participants on the afternoon report. 

Riddick, who missed all of last week with a knee injury, including Sunday's win over the Dolphins, was on the field with the running backs during individual drills, but wasn't participating. 

Lions running back Theo Riddick was at practice Wednesday, but didn't participate much in individual drills that were open to the media.

Davis, on the other hand, had a long talk with coach Matt Patricia during the team's stretching period before the linebacker was worked on by the team's training staff. He was listed as out with a calf injury. 

Additionally, cornerback Darius Slay also spent extended time with the training staff during the early portions of practice. He was limited with a toe injury. 

Also limited for the Lions were defensive end Ziggy Ansah (shoulder), wide receiver Golden Tate (ankle) and running back Ameer Abdullah (ankle).
