Instant analysis: Wings scorers rise to the fore

The Detroit News

Red Wings look like team that beat Blackhawks, not losers to the Canadiens, in overwhelming victory over Blue Jackets. Tomas Jurco, Riley Sheahan and Darren Helm unusual among scorers, and Brendan Smith and Justin Abdelkader defend against goons!

Normally when the Red Wings play at Nationwide Arena there's a buzz around town in Columbus and a great atmosphere at the rink.

A good amount of Red Wings fans are usually in the stands. There's always the Michigan-Ohio State thing lingering.

But, tonight, there was little or no buzz.

The game didn't have much energy. The Blue Jackets are decimated with injuries, and the lineup was not very good. The Red Wings controlled this game from early on.

There was a good amount of empty seats, too.

For the only game this season between these teams here, disappointing.
