Detroit – The Red Wings added depth to their Grand Rapids roster Wednesday by signing forward Eric Tangradi to a one-year contract.

Tangradi, 26, had 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in 48 games with Hamilton (AHL), Montreal's minor-league affiliate, and had no points in seven games with Montreal (17 penalty minutes) last season.

Tangradi (6-foot-4, 221 pounds) has played in 143 NHL games over six seasons, with brief stops in Pittsburgh, Winnipeg and Montreal, earning 15 points (five goals) with 86 penalty minutes.

His best NHL season was 2013-14, when Tangradi played in a career-high 55 games with three goals.
