Detroit – Training camp doesn't begin in the NHL for another two months but many fans already can't wait.

That's what an active offseason will do for the NHL's passionate fans.

And it's no different with the Red Wings.

With the signings of free agent defenseman Mike Green and forward Brad Richards, surgery to Pavel Datsyuk's ankle, and the hiring of coach Jeff Blashill to replace Mike Babcock, it's been a headline-filled offseason.

Questions surrounding the roster persist, such as the health of Datsyuk and Johan Franzen, the development of Dylan Larkin, and the glut of defensemen. It means general manager Ken Holland could still could make more personnel moves.

But the heart of the roster appears to be in place. With that in mind, let's take a look at where the roster stands today, and what it might look like on opening night.
