The Red Wings on Monday unveiled the limited-edition jerseys that will be worn by the team during the 2016 NHL Stadium Series game Feb. 27 at Coors Field in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche.

This is the third appearance by the Wings in an outdoor game since the 2008-09 season.

The NHL Stadium Series jerseys will be available for purchase starting on Wednesday at the official NHL online store at and at merchandise stands throughout Joe Louis Arena during the Red Wings home game against the Boston Bruins.

Additionally, the limited-edition jerseys are available at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (1845 E. Big Beaver Road) on Wednesday starting at 11 a.m.

The uniform is primarily red with white accents. The crest features a redesigned "D" logo. The single white diagonal stripe across the chest celebrates the iconic stripe of the Original Six franchise.

Its diagonal placement is inspired by modern automotive aesthetics, and is a tribute to the city's automotive industry.
