Griffins win franchise-record 12th straight
Anthony Mantha scored twice, including the game-winner, and Robbie Russo added another goal as the Grand Rapids Griffins set a franchise record by winning their 12th consecutive game in beating the Lake Erie Monsters, 3-2, Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.
Jared Coreau made 47 saves for the Griffins, who were outshot 49-28.
Russo opened the scoring on a power-play goal at 9:17 with Mitch Callahan and Martin Frk assisting. Russo also assisted on Mantha's first goal at 1:27 of the second period, which gave Grand Rapids a 2-0 lead.
Lake Erie's Josh Anderson made it a one-goal game midway in the second period before Mantha scored his second at 15:42. Oliver Bjorkstrand scored at 2:45 in the third for Lake Erie.
