Detroit — The Red Wings have recalled forward Tomas Nosek and defenseman Xavier Ouellet from their minor league affiliate in Grand Rapids.

The two players were promoted to provide depth for the Red Wings while Grand Rapids is on holiday break.

Nosek, 23, could be in line to make his NHL debut Sunday against Calgary with Henrik Zetterberg (lower body injury) questionable to play.

Nosek (6-foot-2, 210 pounds), signed as an undrafted free agent in 2014 out of the Czech Republic, had two goals and five assists for the Griffins in 23 games.

Ouellet, 22, has played in 25 NHL games with the Red Wings over the last two seasons but has yet to secure a full-time job.

Ouellet has 12 points (10 assists) in 25 games with Grand Rapids this season.
