Red Wings’ Mrazek earns weekly honor from NHL
The Detroit News
The Red Wings might have a tough time returning to their two-goalie platoon.
Petr Mrazek is red-hot.
Mrazek was named the NHL’s “second star” for last week’s effort, which included three victories and a 0.67 goals-against average.
Mrazek joined Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin (first star) and Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie (third) star for the NHL’s weekly honors.
Mrazek went 3-0 — all coming on the road, including 22 saves in a 1-0 shutout of the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 4. He also helped the Red Wings earn back-to-back 2-1 victories over the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks, respectively.
Mrazek is 15-8-3 on the season with a .930 save percentage and a 2.16 GAA.
