The Red Wings recalled defenseman Xavier Ouellet from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

The Wings, who trail the Lightning 3-1 in their first-round series after Tuesday's 3-2 defeat, resume play Thursday (7 p.m./FSD) in Tampa.

Ouellet had four goals and 25 assists for 29 points in 61 games with the Griffins where he was also a plus-18.  The second-round pick (No. 48 overall) in the 2011 NHL draft has four points (two goals and two assists) in 30 career NHL games after making his debut with the Wings in 2013-14.

The native of Bayonne, France has played in one playoff game during the 2014 first-round series against the Bruins.
