Oddsmakers: Wings among leaders to sign Stamkos

The Red Wings have an 11-to-4 shot at securing the services of soon-to-be free agent sniper Steven Stamkos, according to Las Vegas bookmaker Bovada.

The forward’s current employer Tampa Bay has an even shot at retaining him when he officially becomes a free agent Friday. Toronto has 7-2 odds followed by Buffalo at 8-1 and Montreal at 12-1 with Vancouver the long shot at 22-1.

Stamkos has 312 goals and 562 points in 569 games with Tampa Bay, which selected him first overall in the 2008 NHL Draft. He’s twice winner of the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the league’s leading scorer (2008-09 and ’11-12).
