Report: Former MSU star Horcoff retiring, joining Wings

Former Oliers center Shawn Horcoff is reportedly retiring as a player and joining the Red Wings in a player development role.

Elliotte Friedman of “Hockey Night in Canada” tweeted Horcoff, who played 15 seasons with Edmonton, Dallas and Anaheim, would join the Wings.

Horcoff, who turns 38 on Saturday, played at Michigan State and his wife, Cindy, is from Northville.
