What: Detroit Red Wings (8-7-1) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning (9-6-1)

When: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Joe Louis Arena

Local TV: Fox Sports Detroit, NBCSN

Local radio: 97.1 FM

Outlook: The Red Wings didn’t win many puck battles in Saturday’s 5-0 loss in Montreal so the coaching staff went through several high-intensity, physical and competitive one-on-one drills. “We’ve talked about identity and talked about being relentless, talked about being fast and competitive, and you can’t win in this league and not be highly competitive,” coach Jeff Blashill said. “The game in Montreal, we got out-competed and we can’t get out-competed. We got slapped in the face (so) it better be a wakeup call." . . . Andrei Vasilevskiy made 34 saves for his third career shutout, J.T. Brown and Ryan Callahan scored 42 seconds apart in the first period and the Lightning beat the Islanders 4-0 on Monday night. “We get two points, that’s most important,” Vasilevskiy said. "We did a good job on the (penalty kill) and the game overall, blocked shots and good play. I just want to say thank you to our guys for the shutout.”
