The Detroit News

Grand Rapids Griffins forward Colin Campbell will be suspended for Game 3 of the Calder Cup Central Division semifinal series with the Manitoba Moose.

Campbell, who has 35 points this season (10 goals), was given the ban by the AHL for an illegal check to the head of an opponent during the Griffins’ 5-1 win in Game 2 on Sunday.

The Griffins and Moose are tied at a win apiece in the best-of-five series, which continues at 7 Wednesday at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.

Manitoba forward Buddy Robinson, meanwhile, will be suspended for Games and 4 after an interference incident in Game 2.
