The Detroit Red Wings open the 2018-19 season Thursday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Little Caesars Arena.

The Red Wings, who have missed the playoffs for two straight seasons, are 200-1 to win the Stanley Cup, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers.

John Niyo and Ted Kulfan say it could be a long year but they believe the Wings will be younger, faster and will win their share of games as they rebuild for future postseason runs.
