Grand Rapids takes 3-1 series lead over Chicago

Mitch Callahan scored three goals Monday, leading Grand Rapids to a 6-3 victory over Chicago.

The Griffins lead the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series 3-1. Game 5 is Saturday in Chicago.

Callahan capped his night with an empty-net goal with 49 seconds left.

Kyle Criscuolo, Martin Frk and Matt Lorito added the other Griffins goals. Lorito’s goal was his fourth of the playoffs, tying Matthew Ford for the Griffins’ lead.

Goaltender Jared Coreau stopped 22 shots. The Griffins outshot Chicago 37-25.
