Detroit City FC struck for three first-half goals and downed Columbus Crew College Program, 3-2, in a friendly Wednesday before 4,010 spectators at Hamtramck's Keyworth Stadium.

Defender Seb Harris (Oakland) converted a penalty kick in the second minute to open the scoring for Le Rouge. DCFC was awarded the spot kick after Max Todd was pushed down in the 18-yard box.

Three minutes later, forward Roddy Green (Saginaw Valley State) chipped the Crew goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Forward Shawn Lawson (Oakland) continued his goalscoring streak, slotting home his third tally in as many matches in the 26th minute.

Columbus received goals from Abdi Mohamed (33') and Andrew McKelvey (89').

Detroit City (2-2-1) returns to National Premier Soccer League action at 5:30 p.m. Sunday when it travels to play Kalamazoo FC (0-3-1).
