Marti Corby scored two goals and assisted on another as Grand Rapids FC defeated Lansing United, 4-2, in the United Women Soccer Midwest Conference championship game Saturday at East Lansing Soccer Complex.
Samantha Maher (43', 50') also scored twice for Grand Rapids, which advances to the final four to defend its national title.
Brittany Tanner, who came on as a second-half sub, scored for Lansing United in the 47th minute to level the match 1-1. Lexi Pelafas nabbed a late goal in the 92nd minute for the first-year outfit.
East Lansing Soccer Complex will host the UWS national championship with two semifinals at 4:30 and 7:30 on Saturday, July 21, with the final at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 22. Tickets are $10 each day or $15 for a two-day pass.
Along Grand Rapids in the Midwest, Calgary Foothills (West) and Houston Aces (Southwest) have clinched spots in the final four. The East region representative will be decided on Tuesday.
