That dusting of snow Tuesday morning in Metro Detroit wasn’t the end of it for this week, according to weather forecasters.

Wednesday morning commuters can expect slippery road conditions and reduced visibility after the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory with snow accumulations of up to 5 inches and possibly higher amounts in some areas.

An advisory lasted from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 1 p.m. Wednesday and included Pontiac, Warren and Ann Arbor. A winter storm warning is in effect for northern Oakland and Livingston Counties until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

A special weather statement that called for heavier snow for portions of north central and northeast lower Michigan, including Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Kalkaska, Crawford, Oscoda, Alcona, Roscommon, Ogemaw and Iosco, and includes the cities of Gaylord, Alpena, Kalkaska, Grayling and West Branch.
