Wind advisory, rain Friday; sunny weekend ahead
Metro Detroiters should keep that rain jacket out since scattered thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected Friday.
The National Weather Service in White Lake Township issued a wind advisory from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Thunderstorms will develop Thursday night and move into Friday, with winds up to 60 mph. The storms bring "a lesser threat of large hail and very low chance of a tornado," according to the weather service.
There is more rain expected Friday, with wind gusts of 45-50 mph and could make driving difficult, said meteorologist Alex Manion. Under an inch of rain is expected.
"The bulk of the rain will be coming through after 10 p.m. Thursday, mostly between 1-6 a.m. Friday time slot," said Manion. "It'll fizzle out in the morning and then we'll have another shot at rain showers during the afternoon as a cold front comes through."
Then, a weekend of sunshine.
Starting Saturday through Wednesday Metro Detroit will have partly cloudy and sunny skies until possibly Thursday when rain will return.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with a high of 74; low of 54
Sunday: Partly cloudy with a high of 64; low 43
Monday: Sunny with a high of 65; low of 45
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with a high of 71; low 50
