Labor Day forecast: Hot, muggy, chance of rain
Labor Day weekend in Metro Detroit is expected to be hot and muggy, although there's a slight chance rain could mar some Michiganians' picnic plans.
Temperatures were expected to hover in the mid-80s through the weekend, National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Kook said.
"It'll be pretty muggy," Kook said. "We're looking at (temperatures in the) mid- to -upper 80s throughout the weekend, which is normal for this time of year.
"The Detroit area should stay dry, but there's a chance some storms from the west could move in," Kook said. "But the expectations that they'd reach the Detroit area are low; the area north of Saginaw is where we're expecting storms."
